Gardening Patience. By Paola Troz.

Plants are part of  something new in me.
I never really liked them before that much as to buy a different one everytime I had  a chance, though this year for some reason that changed and I am paying too much attention to every garden I see and planifying which ones to buy and plant for my home.

So I am basically learning about gardening and how to plant and help them bloom.

But I must confess that it is harder than I thought, and requieres so much time...

Patience...

Yeah ,something God works in me every single day.

And gardening as much as many other issues   requieres much of that indeed.

Even If you visualized the perfect garden in your own home, it will take months.

And here I am, starting my own finally!! Right when I thought It was as easy as sitting on a nice chair and enjoy a garden, God decides I have to start one.

So I planted a beautiful bougainvillea  filled with flowers  right when summer is about to start in our country, to decorate our wall in the backyard.
Hoping it will grow fast and fill my wall with all its beautiful pink flowers.

After a couple of weeks the flowers started to fall and the plant to dry...
and if you ask , Yes I watered it!  So I just didnt understand...

Many questions came to my mind; How long would it take now? Was my bouganvillea going to survive? What are you supposed to do when such thing happens? Plant another one?

We want the good things, but are not so able to wait what it takes to gain them
It takes time to make things grow, and even more time to help them bloom.

And good things requiere sacrifice

“I won’t offer to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”
2 Samuel 24:24

So one morning a  gardener came to cut the grass and I showed him  the dry bougainvillea.
He said:  “give it time, there is still hope in the two only green leaves it has.”

“two green leaves,
more time.” I thought.

Patience once again.

God has sense of humor and I guess He laughes with me as I am writting this.

All our plans are on HIs hands. Timing as well is in His hands too.

I thought about myself in some many ways as the garden He is planning, planting and working on.

I heard his loving words of living  hope spoken over my life again and again.

My only two leaves left for HIM to hope...
to hope and start again.

After two months my bougainvillea came back to life and is still  there growing slowly in the wall of my backyard.

There are no flowers yet, but plenty of green leaves by now.

God´s word bring Life
and as it brightens in our spirit  our patience is restored

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”John 6:63

I have heard of so many people planning what to do for The Lord this new year.
They are blooming in such amazing ways.
I listen to how many commitments they have and how their agendas are full.

But for now I am enjoying myself in His Presence
letting Him water so patiently my leaves coming to life full of words of hope.
full of hope to bloom in His time.

Full of life.

I am not in a "planning mood" this year
I am in a trusting mood!
growing mood...

For some reason all my plans on The Lord require trust, so here is where I am.

As I decorate one of the walls outside  with this beautiful promise God gave me two years ago I remain

 quietly trusting
quietly waiting
    quietly hoping

Knowing that He will guide me always.

Quietly growing with the gardening patience of My Personal Gardener
just  like my bougainvillea is doing  too.

The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

Isaiah 58:11
